Mangalore, Jan 12: A library on wheels, going by the name of 'Shanti Sahitya Vahini', promoted by Shanti Prakashan, Mangalore  was flagged off by nonagenarian Kannada author and scholar Kayyara Kinhanna Rai from the Shanti Nilaya premises in Mission Compound, Balmatta here on Friday evening.



After a prayer by the students of the Women's Islamic College, Mohammed Kunhi of Shanti Prakashan welcomed the dignitaries and the gathering and detailed the itinerary and motto of peace envisaged by the mobile library.

Kinhanna Rai gave the inaugural address. Aerya Laxminarayana Alva of Bharat Sanskriti Pratishthan and DK Waqf Board chairman Y Mohammed Kunhi, spoke on the occasion. Jama't-i-Hind's district convener Akbar Ali presided over the function.
