Kundapur, Jan 13: In two separate incidents two fishermen drowned in deep sea while fishing near Gangolli here on Friday January 12.

Janardhan Khanoji (48) who was fishing in a fishing boat in the sea almost 10 kilometres away from Gangolli estuary on Friday morning, when a fierce waves lashed into the boat. As a result Janardhan lost control over himself and fell in the sea.  Though his companions tried to rescue, raging waves forced him into the deep sea within no seconds.  His body was fished out of the sea later in the day.

In another incident Narayana Kharvi (45) who was fishing in a boat with Dasa Kharvi by the shores of sea at Gangolli when he fell into the waters after slipping out from the boat.  His body too was traced.  Both the bodies were handed over to their relatives after autopsy in Gangolli PHC.

Gangolli police have registered two separate cases in this regard.
