Moodbidri, Feb 11: “Young people should not be depressed by negative thoughts of the country. If we proceed knowing the prestige of the country, both the country and the youth force will progress. When we realize our mistakes beforehand and correct our errors, we will be bringing about a change for the better. The dignity of the youth should be conducive to the prestige of the country,” said scholar Chakravarthi Soolibele.

He was speaking on ‘Our Part in the Future of India’, a programme held by Rostrum Speaker Club of Alva’s Engineering College in Mijar on Monday February 10. “Education should bring about new discoveries and novelties. Only then will the country develop. If there is patriotism along with dreams, the country can lead the world. It will not happen through conversions. Conversions lead to re-conversions”, he opined.

A discussion programme was held with the students later. Alva’s Education Foundation trustee Vivek Alva and Alva’s Engineering College principal Dr Peter Fernandes were present. Professor Satyaprakash introduced Chakravarthi Soolibele. Ravindra Shenoy compered the programme.
