Mangalore, Jan 14: The government proposes to set up three food parks in the coastal districts of Karnataka. This was informed by Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries Subodh Kant Sahai here on Saturday.
Speaking to press persons he said that a fund of Rs 4 crore each will be provided as grant to these food parks. The company or factory which will come up in these parks will be given Rs 50 lac of the project cost.
A lab to check food quality will be set up in the parks, he added.
After an IT revolution which was followed by a BT revolution, let’s see a FT revolution (Food Technology), the minister said.
Minister for Fisheries and in-charge minister for DK district Nagaraj Shetty, Mangalore MLA Yogish Bhat were present on the occasion.
