Kundapur, Jan 15: Krishnaprasad Adyantaya, the managing trustee of Shri Mookambika Temple at Kollur near here has urged deputy commissioner to re-name the Byndoor railway station as "Kollur Shri Mookambika Road Station Byndoor."

In an written appeal he has requested deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj not to give heed to certain comments being made by people with regard to the re-naming of the railway station.  The appeal has been submitted after there were reported rumours that people from Senapura, Bijur and some other surrounding areas were opposing the re-naming of the railway station.

In his appeal Adyantaya has stated that Byndoor is connected to Kollur directly by way of state highway.  "It was owing to the request of several devotees thronging to Kollur from entire South India that the earlier managing committee of Kollur Temple had proposed the re-naming of the Byndoor railway station.  Accordingly both state and union governments had released funds for the first phase of upgradation works of the station.  So deputy commissioner should not listen to those who are opposing this project but go on with the present process," he said.
