4G will revolutionise telecom sector, help growth: Prasad


New Delhi, Feb 14 (IANS): Communications and IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad Saturday said fourth generation (4G) technology will be the next revolution in the telecom sector with a lot of potential for India's economic growth.

"We recognize the vision of 4G and the worth of LTE technology and believe that it is going to be the next revolution in the telecom sector with a great potential for Indian economic growth," he said while speaking at the Vision 4G LTE Telecom Conclave 2015.

The government has come up with initiatives like Digital Literacy programme and introduced the concept of digital locker and electronic manufacturing in the country.

"We want to work in a manner keeping consumer satisfaction and the growth of telecom sector in mind. We will ensure that the end user is benefited and also facilitate all that is required in terms of policy initiative from the government of India in a fair and transparent manner," the minister added.
