Singapore, Feb 16 (IANS): Singapore is launching a set of Hello Kitty plush toys and stamps designed for the island-country's 50th anniversary celebrations, media reported Monday.

The collectibles were launched by Singapore's designated Public Postal Licensee, SingPost, The Straits Times reported.

The soft toys come in five outfits: three Hello Kitty figurines are dressed in the traditional garb of cheongsam, baju kurung and sari; one dons an SG50 (Singapore 50) outfit, which is a red and white T-shirt with the logo "I love Singapore"; and the last one comes in a khaki colonial postman uniform, holding a tiny letter.

All the Hello Kitty toys come adorned with Vanda Miss Joaquim ribbons, the national flower.

The set of five will be sold for SGD 88 ($70) and will be available at 10 post offices from April 9.

They can also be pre-ordered on www.sg50hellokitty.com from Feb 23.

SingPost has also created SG50 Hello Kitty MyStamp folders that feature Hello Kitty on some iconic Singapore landmarks.

These will be sold at all post offices from Mar 4.
