GM to introduce SUV Chevrolet Trailblazer this year

New Delhi, Feb 16 (IANS): Automobile manufacturer GM India Monday said it will introduce its sports utility vehicle (SUV) Chevrolet Trailblazer this year and multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) Spin in 2016.

However, the company did not divulge further details about the launch dates of the two vehicles.

"GM India's focus is on significantly expanding its presence in the Indian market by enriching its products, quality and the entire purchasing experience," said Arvind Saxena, president and managing director, General Motors India.

The company said the news about the launch schedule of the two vehicles was originally shared with GM India dealers during their annual meeting in Bangkok Feb 13.

According to the company, during the dealers' meeting, Arvind Saxena and GM's executive vice president and international president Stefan Jacoby also announced plans to increase export activity.

In 2015, the company plans to export around 19,000 cars to nearly 40 countries. A major part of this export activity will be to Mexico and Chile. The company began exporting cars in September 2014. It exported 984 vehicles last year.

“We recognize the growth potential of India and are focused on the fundamentals to ensure long-term sustainability,” said Jacoby. “We know that begins by offering high quality, exciting and competitive products for our customers.”
