Modi to flag off Arunachal-Delhi train Friday


New Delhi, Feb 19 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will Friday visit Arunachal Pradesh where he will flag off two trains -- one connecting the state with the national capital and another with Guwahati in Assam.

Modi will also visit Jharkhand later in the day to inaugurate a new railway line, a government statement said.

"In Arunachal Pradesh, the prime minister will dedicate to the nation, the Harmuti-Naharlagun rail line, flag off the AC express between Naharlagun and New Delhi, and an inter-city express between Naharlagun and Guwahati," said the statement.

Modi will also inaugurate a water supply scheme for Itanagar, and lay the foundation stone for a 132 KV transmission line.

At a function in Hazaribagh in Jharkhand in the afternoon, he will inaugurate a new railway line from Hazaribagh to Kodarma, the statement said.
