Light rain cools Delhi, Friday to be partly overcast


New Delhi, Feb 19 (IANS): Thundershowers Thursday evening brought much needed relief to people in the national capital which had turned unusually warm in the past couple of days. The Met department has forecast a partly overcast Friday with rain in many parts of the city.

"Following a sunny day, traces of rainfall were recorded in many parts of the national capital Thursday evening. Friday will be partly overcast," said an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Friday's maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 29 and 17 degrees Celsius.

Thursday's maximum temperature settled at 29.3 degrees Celsius, five notches above the season's average while the minimum settled at six notches above the season's average at 17 degrees Celsius.

The day's maximum humidity was recorded at 96 percent.

Wednesday's maximum temperature settled five notches above the season's average at 28.9 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was recorded at 14.4 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average.
