Acting chairman of Indonesia's anti-graft body appointed

Jakarta, Feb 20 (IANS): Indonesian President Joko Widodo Friday appointed Tufiequrahman Ruki as acting chairman of the country's Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

The appointment came after the temporary resignation of the commission's chairman who has been declared by police as a corruption suspect, Xinhua reported.

Ruki was the first chairman of KPK from 2003-2007 and had successfully led the commission in fighting corruption, winning support from the investors in the country.
