Modi's suit goes to diamond merchant for Rs 4.31 crore

Surat, Feb 20 (PTI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi's monogrammed bandhgala suit that had kicked up a political storm was today sold off for Rs 4.31 crore at an auction that saw a scramble among the bidders on the final day for the two-piece ensemble.

The pin-striped navyblue suit that Modi wore for his Summit meeting with the US President Barack Obama on January 25, went to Surat-based diamond trader Lalji Patel and his son after intense bidding in the dying moments of the auction.

"The suit has been purchased for Rs 4.31 crore by Dharmananda Diamond Company's Lalji Patel and his son Hitesh Patel," District Collector Rajendra Kumar announced at the close of the 3-day auction at 5 pm.

Chaos prevailed in the last one hour of the auction and bids flew thick and fast for the suit, which according to reports, was worth Rs 10 lakh. No base price was fixed for the auction of the suit.

The opening bid for the suit with Modi's name in full-- Narendra Damodardas Modi-- vertically embroidered on the fabric to look like golden pinstripes was Rs 11 lakh on Wednesday.

This is the problem, all you have answer is 60 years ruling by congress.
Do you mean to say the party that ruled for sixty years did not respect river Ganga?
Do you mean that the party ruled for 60 years sent agents to soil the river?
Do you mean that the party ruled for 60 years belong to non-hindu's?
Do not blame the political party for the river, blame your own people who throw deal bodies to the river.
Blame the PM Modi who went to worship river Ganga and then throw the flowers and garlands to the river.
Blame your culture and blind beliefs that inspire poor people to go and die at river bank of Ganga.
Have you heard any rich going and die there?
The bottom line is ,we do not need money to clean river Ganga,or need to auction the suit and trouser, but the people who believe the river is holy should have the will to keep it clean.

First why does have to wear such an expensive suite?. He has realized his blunder, so now to coverup this issue, he has played a very smart (sentimental and emotional) game of auctioning and donating the money to clean river Ganga. The whole world knows that religion is India's weakness and so does PM.
If he really wanted to clean Ganga he could have done it looong time ago.
To clean river Ganga or so be any other river, educate people, so they don't pollute the river, which is more important than spending huge cost on cleaning it.
One of the solution is diverting the river water to a small separate artificial ponds, where people perform their last rites, to take bath, etc.

He can auction everything as he can not take it up or down with him and also he can not leave it to his son as he has not have one.
Secondly, he can buy many more things on his monogram and sell it to the rich public who will buy anything including under garments of his. He has become a celebrity. Before, celebrities have become CM, MP, MLA now PM become celebrities. India is developed. Good job.

Good job by the PM ,this auction money will be going to the NGO for clean India.People keep commenting for any good work done by Modi, because they cannot digest it and are always negative.Firstly they talked how a common man can wear such a pricy suite and its wrong the money could have given to poor etc.If thats the case then why Sonia or Rahul who are much richer in politics can donate to poor. Why people commening here Stay abroad own expensive cars ,jewellery, lavish home in Kudla/kasaragod cant they spend it to the poor.
Its very easy to pin point, lets come back to the suite if Gujrathis Buy then its Black money then how about the others who have ample money from illegal means.

On a superstitious note, it’s said Tippu’s sword was the jinx that heralded sunset upon British empire and recently the downfall of Mallya, the current owner of the sword. Similarly, one can draw an analogy between the famous monogrammed Bandgala suit in question and the recent sequence of events at New Delhi . Could that be the reason behind the owner’s decision to get rid of the jinx in a hurry and that too with a huge net profit? Only a Gujju brain can work in this manner.

The reason behind so much of bad press for this suit - It was worn ONCE by Modi! But then, 4.31 Crores into the Ganga Cleansing project is indeed divine & needs to be appreciated

UPA for 10 L-O-N-G years did absolutely nothing for Ganga & Yamuna cleaning though they were pulled up by the SC also 5 times on this.

Modi bashers & haters did an extremely negative campaign about this suit & tied hardto spread hatred & venom...But see how People love & admire him!! 4.31 Crore is not childs play amount for a suit!!

May Maa Ganga bless Modi & Gujarat CM Anandiben with good health & keep providing such instances to contribute for noble causes

Ganga is polluted because of Human waste, Industrial waste, Religious events. The Haridwar dam has led to decay of the Ganges by greatly diminishing the flow of the river. It is not easy for any Government to clean the Ganga as if stop them to do religious events i.e. throwing food, flowers, and dead bodies to Ganga it will heart Hindu religious people. Unless government make strict rule that anybody throws to Ganga which will make it polluted they must punish them. Than only you can make Ganga clean. No government will take the risk of hurting religious sentiment as they may loose votes. Let us see how long will take to clean Ganga????
