New Delhi, Feb 20 (IANS): A court rejected the plea of three accused in a 1984 anti-Sikh riots case here Friday as they wanted transfer of their cases to another court on the ground of jurisdiction.

District Judge Rakesh Siddhartha dismissed the plea of Brahmanand Gupta, Peeriya and Ved Prakash, seeking transfer of the case from Karkardooma district court in east Delhi to Rohini district court in west Delhi.

All the three, along with Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, are facing trial in connection with the killing of a man in the Sultanpuri area in west Delhi during the riots that erupted after the then prime minister Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her security guards.

The court had framed various charges, including those of murder and rioting, against them.

Currently, the court is recording statements of prosecution witnesses in the case.

The Central Bureau of Investigation had filed two charge sheets against Sajjan Kumar and others in January 2010 in the riots cases registered in 2005 on the recommendation of Justice G.T. Nanavati Commission which had probed the sequence of events leading to the violence.
