Mangalore, Jan 23: Based on the complaint given by S Sundaram who was demanded bribe at the RTO office the lokayukta conducted a raid at the office here on Tuesday January 23 at 5.30 pm.

The surprise visit put the RTO officers in hot water. In his complaint Sundar Ram stated that a sum of Rs 1,000 was asked by a certain Harish, a broker to ARTO Sridhar. On Tuesday lokayukta inspector Prasanna V Raju caught ARTO Sridhar and Harish red-handed.

Sundaram had recorded the conversation between him and Harish on a tape-recorder provided by the lokayukta which was used as main witness to substantiate Sundaram's compalint.
