Facebook introduces app to manage advertisement

New York, Feb 25 (IANS): Facebook has introduced a new app called "Ads Manager" that will give business owners statistics about their advertisements engagements, cost per engagement, total reach and frequency.

The information was previously available on the Ads Manager mobile site, which is used by more than 800,000 advertisers each month, according to Facebook.

Facebook now has two million active advertisers. Six months ago, the figure was 1.5 million active advertisers, Mashable reported.

Still, these figures are a fraction of the 30 million businesses around the world that have Facebook Pages. The majority of the advertisers are small- to medium-sized businesses.

Facebook's digital advertising market share is only 7.8 percent compared to Google, which held 31.1 percent of the market last year, according to eMarketer.

In 2013, Google's share was 33.6 percent versus 5.8 percent for Facebook.
