45-year-old woman's head chopped off by relatives

New Delhi, Feb 26: On Thursday, relatives barged into the house, chopped off a woman's head and gravely injured her family in Dakshini Daulatpur village. The reason behind the attack is as yet unknown and the local police are said to be looking into the matter.

The Pal family as they were known in the neighbourhood, had sat down for their afternoon lunch the house was stormed by men armed with swords, rifles and other such weapons. Mira Devi was serving lunch when they reached her and cut off her head. Superintendent of Police (SP) Aditya Kumar said that the attackers are believed to be relatives of the Pal family.

They didn't stop at killing the woman, but went on to attack her husband, Mahendra Pal, their daughter-in-law Kavita Devi and five-year-old grandson Kunal. All three are alive but severely injured. A case has been registered against the assailants, and the police have said that they are already looking for the accused as well as the motive behind the gruesome attack.
