Police officers from 21 countries visit Telangana police HQ


Hyderabad, Feb 27 (IANS): A team of police officers from 21 countries Friday visited the office of Telangana's police chief.

Director General of Police Anurag Sharma and other senior police officers briefed them about the functioning of state crime record bureau, fingerprint bureau and also explained them about the functioning of anti-Maoist force Grey Hounds.

The police chief also explained the IT initiatives of Telangana state police such as e-cops, Global Positioning System, crime mapping, Hawk-eye for women safety, said an official statement.

These 47 foreign police officers are in India as part of 12 week training programme at National Crime Records Bureau, New Delhi.

The team was in Hyderabad on a four-day visit to SVP National Police Academy, Forensic Science laboratory and Telangana State Police Academy.

The officers were from countries like Afghanistan, Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Myanmar, Philippines, Uganda, Vietnam, Zambia and El Salvador.
