Mufti Sayeed sworn in as J&K chief minister, BJP's Nirmal Singh deputy

Jammu, Mar 1 (IANS): Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was sworn in as the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Sunday in a ceremony here attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Nirmal Singh was sworn in as the deputy chief minister.

BJP national president Amit Shah and senior leaders L. K. Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi as well as Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar were among those present at the occasion.

Mufti will head the PDP-BJP coalition government in the state and will be the chief minister for full six-year term.

This is the second time he will be heading a coalition government. In 2002, he led a PDP-Congress alliance and was chief minister for three years.

With the Mufti's political experience & maturity along with Modi's strategy & directio, we are sure J&K is now firmly on the path of development

This is the uniqueness of democracy, two diverse parties coming together with a common minimum programme respecting the people's mandate.

PDP & BJP also should open diplomatic channels open with the seperatists & also bring them to mainstream political roles to develop all regions of J&K and thrawt the anti nationalists or the pro pakis out

This govt will function with common minimum programme to meet the aspirations of Kashmiris.People of Kashmir need to be complemented for actively participating in the election process on the great threats of Pak terrorists and foiling their ill conceived designs. New govt be it 20:20,50:50 or otherwise should work effectively to uplift the living standards of Kashmiris especially youth force.Let the Kashimir heaven on the earth once against bring back its lost glory.
