Mangalore, Jan 31: Raman Gupta IPS (2005 batch) has joined the district for his field/practical training on Monday, according to information available from district police. 

Hailing from Panipat district of Haryana, he joined the Indian Police Service in 2005 after appearing for the UPSC examination in the year 2004 and clearing it in first attempt. He joined training at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy, Hyderabad, the premier police training institute which imparts training to all senior police officers of the country, for 45 weeks.

After completion of this training, he was allotted to the Karnataka cadre and accordingly he has come to DK district to pick up the basics of field policing. He will be in the district for about 7 months, during which time he will be exposed to all facets of district police activities.

Raman Gupta is a post-graduate in International Business from Delhi University and also holds a diploma in Multimodal Transportation and Logistics Management.
