Rain creates havoc in Pakistan killing 10


Islamabad, March 2 (IANS): At least 10 people, including three children and a woman, died in separate rain-related incidents across Pakistan on Monday, media reported.

At least two people lost their lives while one sustained injuries when the roof of a house collapsed in Lahore's Shahdara area in Punjab province, Duniya TV reported.

The three people were sleeping in a temporary cattle yard near a matchbox factory in Shahdara when the roof collapsed due to heavy rain trapping all of them under the rubble.

Another incident claimed the life of a 60-year-old man while a 35-year-old man sustained severe injuries.

Meanwhile, heavy rains in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa killed a minor girl and injured two women of the same family. The roof of their house collapsed when the family members were resting.

Also in Mohmand Agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, two children and one woman were killed and two other children were injured in a roof collapse incident.
