K.K. Sharma to be Delhi's new chief secretary

New Delhi, March 2 (IANS): The home ministry on Monday approved the name of K.K. Sharma as Delhi's next chief secretary, official sources said.

"K.K. Sharma's name has been approved to be the next chief secretary of Delhi," a home ministry official told IANS.

Sharma, who is presently the chief secretary of Goa, was the second choice of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who had requested Home Minister Rajnath Singh to appoint him if the ministry could not approve Ramesh Negi, Kejriwal's first choice for the post.

Sharma, a 1983 batch IAS officer, had joined as the Goa chief secretary on January 1. He was last posted in Delhi as a principal secretary from 2009 to 2011.
