Nippy and cloudy Tuesday in Delhi


New Delhi, March 3 (IANS): It was a nippy Tuesday morning in the capital and a light mist enveloped the city.

The Met Office has forecast a pleasant day.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the sky will remain cloudy through the day and the maximum temperature is likely to hover around 22 degrees Celsius. The odds of more showers are unlikely.

The national capital was lashed by rain for the second consecutive day on Monday bringing the winter chill back after days of bright sunshine and high maximum temperatures.

The city has received a total of 7mm of rainfall on Monday, the Met Office said.

Tuesday's minimum temperature settled at 12.8 degrees Celsius - average for this time of the season.

The visibility at 8.30 a.m. was 600 metres and the humidity was 100 percent.

Monday's maximum temperature was recorded five notches below average at 22.1 degrees Celsius and the minimum was 14.8 degrees Celsius, two notches above the season's average.
