Mangalore, Feb 2: Wednesday January 31 proved to be a great day for Bajpe Airport when the Airbus 321 landed on its tarmac for the first time.

The aircraft, said to be the biggest aircraft in the Indian domestic civil aviation sector, was operated by Kingfisher Airlines and had a passenger seating capacity of 161. The airbus arrived at 3 pm from Mumbai and took-off on a return flight a little while later on the same day.

Last year, Kingfisher Airlines, headed by Vijay Mallya, had landed the Airbus 319 and 320 at the Bajpe Airport.
