Indian-origin comedian to headline Scottish festival

London, March 5 (IANS): Indian-origin comedian Hardeep Singh Kohli and the Scottish Chamber Orchestra are set to headline the Dumfries and Galloway Arts Festival.

Kohli is a Scottish broadcaster and writer who has appeared on radio and television. He started his career as a stand-up comedian in 2009.

A total of 82 acts will be performed at 42 venues across Scotland over 10 days starting from May 22, BBC reported on Thursday.

This is the 36th edition of the annual festival.

"The range and quality of acts in this year's programme is truly wonderful," festival chairman Ken Gouge said.

"This year demonstrates that we are continuing to build on the strong reputation of the 36 years of the festival's existence," he added.
