Udupi, Feb 3: In yet another ghastly accident on National Highway 17, two persons were killed and 11 were injured when a bullet tanker rammed into a private bus near Babbuswami Temple at Kothalkatte near Kaup here on Friday February 2 afternoon.

The accident occurred when the bullet tanker coming to Mangalore collided with the bus going to Udupi owing to the reckless driving of the tanker driver.

The deceased have been identified as Ayisha (45) of Bada-Uchila and Balkrishna Poojary (38) of Kaup.  Tanker driver Govinda, bus driver Ramesh and passengers Rajesh Kundar, Durgashree, Zareena, Keshav, Shameer, Wasim, Nagesh Rao, , Krishna Kumar and Babu Shetty.  All the injured have been admitted to a private hospital here.

The impact of the accident was such that the bus fell into a field after the tanker rammed into it. 

The Kaup police have registered a case in this regard.
