IAF fighter crashes in Haryana, pilot injured


Chandigarh, March 5 (IANS): An Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter crashed on Thursday near Kurukshetra in Haryana, police said. The aircraft is believed to be a Jaguar but this could not be immediately confirmed.

The pilot was injured as he ejected. He was being taken to a hospital by IAF personnel, police said.

The fighter crashed in an agricultural field near Kurukshetra, about 120 km from Chandigarh.

The aircraft, which was on a routine training sortie, had taken off from the Ambala Air Force base, 45 km from Chandigarh.
