Nitish not celebrating Holi, people miss Lalu

Patna, March 6 (IANS): Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is not celebrating Holi following the death of former chief minister and senior JD-U leader Ram Sundar Das.

"Nitish Kumar has decided not to celebrate Holi due to death of Das," an official said.

According to officials here, Nitish Kumar has also cancelled his public Holi celebrations at his official residence here.

He, however, greeted citizens of the state and appealed to them to celebrate it in the spirit of love and brotherhood.

On the other hand, hundreds of people in Bihar are disappointed as they are missing Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad's trademark 'kapdaphaar' (cloth-tearing) Holi this year.

People are missing Lalu's Holi as he is in Delhi, an RJD leader said.
