Four shot dead in Mali


Bamako, March 7 (IANS): Four people were shot dead on Saturday at a popular restaurant in this Mali capital.

The incident occurred when a gunman walked into the busy restaurant located in an area popular with foreign tourists and expatriates and fired several shots, Xinhua reported.

Police have termed the shooting "a terrorist attack", adding the victims a Frenchman, a Belgian and two Malians.

French President Francois Hollande denounced the incident as "a cowardly attack", while the French embassy in Mali has asked all French nationals in Bamako to be on the alert.
