Light rain in Delhi, similar weather expected on Sunday


New Delhi, March 7 (IANS): The national capital witnessed sudden rain in the evening on Saturday following a sunny day with the maximum temperature settling one notch below the season's average at 27.6 degree Celsius.

The Met office has forecast light rainfall or thundershowers in some parts of the city on Sunday.

"There will be light mist early morning tomorrow (Sunday). Partly cloudy sky, one or two spells of very light rain and thundershower could occur in some areas," said an official with the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 27 and 15 degrees Celsius respectively. Saturday morning was pleasant and the minimum temperature settled at 12.5 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average.

The day's maximum humidity was recorded at 95 percent while the rain was noted at 7.6 m.m. Friday's maximum temperature was recorded at 27.3 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average and the minimum temperature settled at 14 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
