Kolkata, March 7 (IANS): Four more deaths due to swine flu have been reported in West Bengal, taking the toll across the state to 13, a health official said on Saturday.
"Four fresh deaths were reported since Friday. The total number of cases is 199," principal secretary for health and family welfare Malay Kumar De told IANS.
Most of the cases have been reported from North 24 Parganas district and from Kolkata while some were reported from Howrah and Hooghly districts.
De said the response of four private hospitals, which were served show-cause notice, for discharging patients diagnosed with swine flu, were found to be unsatisfactory.
"The hospitals have replied and their replies were unsatisfactory. So investigation is going on," he said.
