  • Shri Ram Sene calls for a Puttur bundh on Monday

Puttur, Feb 4: Following tension created by lathi charge by police and firing in the air at the mob that gathered during the Shobhayatra in Puttur on Saturday evening, the Shri Ram Sene has called for a Puttur bundh on Monday.

  

Tension prevailed when the police resorted to stern measures to disperse members of Shri Rama Sene who wanted to take out the Shani Pooja Shobhayatra without obtaining the required permission from police department.

  

  

The police had refused permission for the same and this led to commotion. The agitated youth decided to take out the procession which was prevented by the police. As situation grew tensed, the police had to resort to lathi charge and even firing in the air.

The police had also taken 52 youth into custody and later section 144 was imposed in the region as stone pelting was also reported in the region.

  

  

Alleging that the police had attempted to curtail their freedom of taking out a procession, the Hindu organization. Leader Pramod Mutalik has alleged that the BJP has been behind the denial to hold the procession.

Interestingly, the statue of the Lord Shani was immersed temple well by the police on Sunday morning. Opposing the police action the Shri Ram Sene has called for a Puttur Bundh on Monday.
