Shocking: Video of policeman kicking a woman in Unnao goes viral

Lucknow, Mar 8 (Agencies) : At a time when nation is debating over the continous rise in violence against women, the video of a policeman thrashing a woman proves there is certainly no end to it.

Shocking pictures of a cop kicking a woman on her back have gone viral on Twitter. In the 1-minute clip, the policeman can be seen running towards a woman and thrashing her mercilessly. She then falls on the ground but he continues to kick her on the back.

It is more shameful to see others present in the crowd including two policemen simply watching the incident and not doing anything to rescue her.

Reports suggest the incident took place in Uttar Pradesh Unnao's district.

Women Are Honored Where, Divinity Blossoms There (Yatra Naryastu Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devata)..looks like the sins of people in banks and towns surrounding ganges will never be washed even if ganga gets cleaned, it has become an evil land..Never raise hand against a women and always respect the elderly..the message seems to have lost value..what can we do to keep our coastal belt peaceful? At least maintain peace, brotherhood and harmony, stop all minor incidents turning into problem by early intervention of elderly from the society, being neutral while handling issues involving different communities, express solidarity with truth and righteousness.

This is the realitaete in India whatever the reason it is.No respect towards women ,or a human being.only Money .Today I saw in TV.about India, regards as women day a Report about Dalit, women and Religion, comments from Indian People.one said when a dalit woman goes to complain to Police about illtreating, police will first call the Person about it.and he says dont make or take the complain.so now Police dont do anything she has to go back.Upper class has that word.no drinking water from the well to dalits, but only brahmins.when things are so no wonder Police also chase the woman and kick her.some men are running behind like Dogs behind Leopard.shame on the whole.Such Person is not fit to be in Police dpt.,and should be suspended immediately.women should protest against this.He deserves the same Treatment.I wonder why the People didnt thrash Police?Police should be informed in future ,not to touch women, when there is anything wrong, there are Lady Police can take over.has this woman robbed someone?but it is just a ashaming Event.

It is utter disgrace and shame to Police Dept., it appears, there is no rule book made for Policemen, nor training or discipline taught during their training. The Home Dept., and Police force both to blame. This does not happen elsewhere except in India. Time for a change.

Police and the politicians, please beware of the new age in which we are living. What you do in the remote part of India will be watched by the people all over the world.

The mistreatment-burning and raping of women in India are getting international coverage now which is shedding a very dark image of India.

Vivek, agreed with you fully. Ad, Mangalore might still argue that it is the foreign media's conspiracy to spoil India's name. These things will never happen in India and it looks like this is doctored by BBC, what you think ad, Mangalore?? He has enough knowledge about the Western countries and western media.

What a shame!! people keep talking about our great India and that BBC documentary and defend why it should be blocked in India. Why not this one too?? Unless each and every incident comes to the public through media we will never know these types of incidents. There are hundreds of incidents which will go under the carpet because of money power. Give freedom to media to air these incidents and we know what's happening and it also helps to find these culprits and take action just like the other day BAR association did 2 of their members. If BBC didn't shoot that documentary these 2 lawyers would be saints. BTW, a question to Ad Mangalore. I have seen your comments supporting the Lawyers and fiercely opposing the BBC documentary in this column. With all your knowledge of Western countries (which we need a life time to get as per your opinion)have you ever sen a policeman kicking a women like this?? or a rapist asking the victim to just allow rape without protesting? or blaming the girl for being outside at that time of the night with her friend. Please let me know. Honestly I do not have that much experience about the Western Countries like you have though I lived in England and Ireland for 15 years.
