Red sandalwood worth Rs.2 crore seized in Gurgaon


Gurgaon, March 12 (IANS): The crime branch of Gurgaon police seized 250 logs of red sandalwood worth over Rs.2 crore from a truck and arrested two people, police said Thursday.

A crime branch team acting on a tip-off stopped a truck heading towards Delhi on Gurgaon-Delhi Expressway, near 32 Milestone and recovered the sandalwood being smuggled.

Manpreet Singh, 32, from Moga in Punjab and Mukesh Kumar, 30, from a village near Kharkhoda in Sonipat town of Haryana, were arrested.
