Modi departs for Sri Lanka on final leg of tour

Port Louis, March 13 (IANS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi left Mauritius on Thursday night for Sri Lanka, on the final leg of his three-nation tour of the Indian Ocean island nations.

He will be the first Indian prime minister to visit Sri Lanka in 28 years.

He will hold talks with Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, who visited India last month on his first foreign trip after assuming office in January.

Modi was in Mauritius and in Seychelles as part of his March 10-14 three-nation visit to key neighbouring countries across the Indian Ocean.
