Cyclone hits Australia


Sydney, March 13 (IANS): Australian west coast was hit by tropical cyclone Olwyn on Friday as it made landfall in Exmouth town.

Over 1,400 residents were without power as winds brought down electricity poles, uprooted trees and ripped down fences, Xinhua reported.

Police said there were no reports of casualties.
