Beltangady, Feb 8: Mystery still shrouds around the murder of a hotel employee at Dharmasthala near here.  The entire episode seems to be very mysterious and so far there have been no conclusive evidences to establish the identity of the murder(s).

The episode is complicated if murder attempt on another employee of the same canteen is taken to count.  As reported Hanumantha, an employee in Vijaya Canteen was found in a pool of blood after being stabbed by unidentified persons in the last week.  Owing to immediate treatment, he survived.

But within a week Prashanth Patil, a cleaner in the same canteen was found dead near the drainage in the early hours of Sunday February 4.  Prashanth too had similar wounds on his chest and stomach.  He had joined Vijaya canteen only on January 29 which meant that he had little time to make any enemies.

Moreover, similarities in both Hanumanth and Prashanth's case also suggest that the killer may be a same person.  But if it is same person, the motive still remains very questionable.  The manager and other employees of the canteen who had been detained for investigation has been let out.  Police sources said that they could not elicit many details from them.
