Haryana to give land for dry port near rail stations


Gurgaon, March 13 (IANS): Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal on Friday said the state government will allot land for building dry ports near railway stations so that convenient transport facilities are provided to agriculture produce and products for the benefit of farmers.

The chief minister was interacting with media after attending the three-day Haryana Agri Leadership Summit, 2015 at Gurgaon on Friday.

On being asked about procurement of wheat in the state, he said the state government has five agencies for procurement of wheat.

He said the state government will procure every single grain of wheat so that farmers do not face any difficulty.

In a reply to another question, he said the economic development of Haryana depends of agriculture adding that the development of agriculture will lead to development of farmers therefore the three-day Haryana Agri Leadership Summit has been organized keeping in view various aspects.

This summit would help in increasing productivity of farmers, increasing their income and better marketing of their produce. Definitely the state government would succeed in its endeavour, he added.
