Moodbidri, Mar 15: The town, where the newly built court complex had been inaugurated a month back, witnessed inaugural of mobile senior civil ludge's court on Saturday March 14. The court was inaugurated on Saturday evening by high court judge and administrative judge of Dakshina Kannada district, Justice A N Venugopal Gowda.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Gowda said that this court will function on temporary basis on Fridays and Saturdays. He added that at present, annually about 473 appeals are filed in the region. Once the number of appeals goes up to 600, this will be converted into a full-fledged court, he explained.

High court judge, Justice Abdul Nazeer, who hails from Moodbidri, pointed out that this town happens to be the only revenue division headquarters in the entire state to get a new court complex and a senior civil judge's court within a month apart.

Udupi district sessions court judge, Shivashankar Amarannaavar, Moodbidri senior civil judge's court designated judge, Mallikarjun, judge of the junior civil court, Sathish S T, member of Karnataka State Legal Services Authority member, M Bahubali Prasad, were among those present on the occasion.

Judge of Dakshina Kannada district sessions court, Uma M G, welcomed. Shweta K presented the programmee. Bar Association president, K R Pandith, proposed vote of thanks.
