Two killed in Delhi road accident


New Delhi, March 16 (IANS): Two people died and three others were injured after the driver of their car lost control and collided with a tree, police said on Monday.

Amit (25), and Navneet (35) died on the spot while Anil (26), Sandeep (31) and Pankaj, the driver of the car in his late thirties, suffered injuries in the accident that occurred at 11.30 p.m. on Sunday in south Delhi's south campus area.

According to police, the occupants were returning from Gurgaon and heading towards their home in west Delhi's Sagarpur area.

"All of them were apparently drunk. The deceased were sitting on the back seat of the car along with Anil who has also received severe injuries. The owner of the car Sandeep was sitting on the front seat with the driver Pankaj," said police.

He said a case of rash and negligent driving has been registered.

Police also said that the two deceased were working in a private firm.
