Mangalore, Feb 11: The Department of English, St Aloysius College will organise a one-day workshop on Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) for the teachers of English in Mangalore University area on February 15.

Head of department of English Prof A Lourdusamy in a press released informed that the seminar aims at making the teachers acquainted with recent trends in language teaching to make teaching more effective, learner friendly and result oriented.

Dr Peter Francis from Loyola College Chennai will be the resource person for the seminar. The workshop will deal with learning centered methods of teaching, mind mapping for easier comprehension and language teaching and the media.

`Careers in English', a topic much required for students has also been incorporated in the seminar and will be dealt by resource persons from media, corporate communication and
IT industries, the release stated.
 
The event has been organised to celebrate the decennial of the introduction of communicative English as an optional subject in BA in Mangalore University as well as St Aloysius College.
