Two women Maoists surrender in Odisha


Bhubaneswar, March 16 (IANS): Two women Maoists, carrying cash rewards of Rs.4 lakh each, surrendered before police in Odisha's Kalahandi district on Monday, an official said.

Phulabati alias Mithila, 30, and Rukmati alias Ramshila, 28, surrendered at the district headquarters town of Bhabanipatna, 430 km from Bhubaneswar.

Both hail from Bijapur area of Chhattisgarh and joined the rebels in 2006, Inspector General of Police (south-western range) Yashwant Jethwa told IANS.
