Mangalore, Feb 11: In a raid conducted jointly by officials of the Food and Civil Supplies Department and the District Crime Investigation Bureau, illegally stored Kerosene worth Rs 46,377 was obtained.

On Feb 9, the two teams, on credible information conducted a raid on a shop at Bunder and seized 4,336 litres of Kerosene

Mohammed Iqbal (47) resident of Bunder, who is the owner of the show, has been arrested.

It is learnt that the accused used to obtain the kerosene being supplied from the Government to the fishing boats and sell in the black market at higher rates and make profits.

A case under the Essential Commodities Act has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station.
