Mangalore, Feb 11: Minister for Public Works H D Revanna, on Sunday, Feb 11, inaugurated the Nandini Flavoured Milk production unit at Kulshekar.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the Karnataka State Milk Producers' Federation stood second in milk collection in the state with an annual business turn over of Rs 1,600 crore. The DK district Co-operative Federation collects over 2.10 lac litre of milk everyday and has a sales of 2 lac litres.
The flavoured milk production unit is the first in the state and DK district can boast of its, said the minister.
A project of Rs 250 crore for has been chalked out for the development of Federations in the state, Revanna said.
Mangalore MLA Yogish Bhat, Mangalore City Corporation mayor Vijaya Arun and several others were present at the programme.
