Rons Bantwal for Daijiworld Media Network – Mumbai (SS)

  Mumbai, Feb 12:  hotelier Damodar S Shetty (48), passed away in Holy Family hospital, Bandra here, on Saturday February 10, following a brief illness.

Owner of ‘Udupi Refreshments’ hotel at Hill Road, Bandra for two decades, Shetty was a noted social worker.

He was instrumental in arranging shelter to nearly 500 slum dwellers who were displaced owing to the construction of a huge building near his hotel premises. 

Originally from Ekkaaru, he is survived by wife Yashoda and daughter Lakshmitha.
