TCS expands its Singapore operations


Mumbai, March 18 (IANS): Indian IT bellwether Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said on Tuesday that it is expanding its operations in Singapore to deliver digital solutions to global banks

"We have opened a 1,000-seat centre to provide banking and financial services in Singapore to leading global banks operating in the Asia-Pacific region," it said in a statement.

Its chief executive N. Chandrasekaran unveiled the centre, which will be a subsidiary christened Singapore Banking and Financial Services.

“We have been operating in Singapore over the last three decades and have seen a growing shift in our global banking and financial services clients moving core elements of their operations to this island state to be closer to the Asian region,” said TCS Asia-Pacific president Girish Ramachandran.

As Singapore is also its regional headquarters, the IT outsourcing major plans to further expand its presence to assist its global clients in the region.
