Mangalore, Feb 14: The first-ever ‘Members Directory’ of Dakshina Kannada branch of Indian Medical Association (IMA) was released here on Wednesday February 14.

The directory, edited by Dr Devdas Rai and Dr J P Shetty and published by M V Mallya, contains profiles of members with photographs, contact details and other information. It also has information on IMA including its history and details of office-bearers.

It also includes useful information on hospitals, ambulance services, blood banks, eye banks, newspaper bureaus, police stations and other utility and public services.

Dr Habeeb Rehman, chairman, Unity Health Complex, initiated the idea of publishing the directory which has been sponsored by Medical Laboratories and Hospitals.

A complementary copy of the directory will be distributed to IMA members, branches, medical colleges and hospitals.

The IMA has its headquarters in Delhi and state headquarters in Bangalore. The Dakshina Kannada branch has more than 600 members and is the second largest in the state.

Mayor Vijaya Arun, Dr J P Shetty, Dr B Devdas Rai, Dr C P Habeed Rehman and M V Mallya were also present on the occasion.
