Hyderabad, March 20 (IANS): The toll due to swine flu in Telangana has risen to 75 with the death of one more person, officials said on Friday.
After a decline, the number of swine flu cases has risen again. The health department, in its bulletin, said 32 people were found carrying H1N1 virus out of 92 samples tested on Thursday.
Only eight cases were reported on Tuesday, the lowest in last few weeks. However, 25 positive cases were registered on Wednesday.
The health authorities screened 6,717 samples since January 1 and out of them 2,140 were found positive. The toll since January 1 stands at 75. Hyderabad and neighbouring Ranga Reddy district accounted for majority of deaths and positive cases.
Officials said enough stocks of medicines, testing kits have been made available at all teaching, district and area hospitals.
The health department has advised people to take all precautions and approach hospital on the first symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain.
