Mangalore, Feb 15: The local branch of International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) will organise its fourth annual ‘Sri Krishna Balarama Ratha Yatra’ festival on Saturday February 17 at PVS circle here.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday February 14, Karunya Sagara Dasa of ISKCON informed that the Ratha Yatra is aimed at spreading peace, prosperity and tranquillity in the society.
District in-charge minister B Nagaraj Shetty will be the chief guest for the inaugural programme while deputy commissioner M Maheshwar Rao and mayor Vijaya Arun will be the guest of honour. ISKCON Bangalore president Madhu Pandit Dasa will preside over the function.
The Ratha Yatra will be flagged off at 4.30 pm near PVS junction and will pass through Navbharat Circle, Hampankatta, Town Hall, Central Market, Car Street, Alake and culminate at Sanghaniketan at 8.30 pm. There will be bhajans and ‘Vishesh Puja’ towards the end.
Special religious programmes, Panchamrutha Abhisheka, discourses and religious ceremonies will be conducted at Sanghaniketan on Sunday February 18 between 7.30 and 10 am. Madhu Pandit Dasa will deliver a special religious talk and discourse on the occasion.
Among those present at the press meet were Niskinchana Bhakta Dasa and Jagat Jivan Dasa of ISKCON.
