Mangalore, Feb 16: Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy in association with Reception Committee of Gerasoppa has organized a day-long "Konkni Lokotsav" at Gerasoppa on Sunday February 18.
This folklore fest has been organized for Konkani-Kharvi, Marathi, Gabit, Desh Bhandari, Kumbar, Kelsi, Nawayat, Christians, GSB, Vaishya Shet, Sherugar, Daivajna Brahmin, Achari and other communities residing in and around Gerasoppa.
The Lokotsav will be held in the KPC Club auditorium at KPC Colony at Gerasoppa and will be inaugurated by Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy president Eric Ozario on Sunday morning.
Uday Babu Naik, president of Battikeri gram panchayat and Msgr Simon Tellis, vicar general of Karwar diocese will be the chief guests on the occasion. Ullas Naik, Manjayya Shivu Marathi, Umesh Tandela, Khadira Basha Umar Saab Adakara and Chandrakant Kocharekara will be the guest of honour while Babu Vithal Pai and Venkatesh Mesta will deliver lecture on local folklore.
