Mangalore, Feb 18: In a road mishap that took place on Sunday morning, two persons were knocked down by a speeding car, killing one among them.
A clear instance of reckless driving, three students said to be of a reputed medical college of the city drove the Maruthi 800 on the PVS road. The vehicle rammed into the road divider opposite Hotel Navneet near PVS Junction and knocked down two pedestrians.
The vehicle turned turtle and fell into a trench. The injured pedestrian Balakrishna Shetty and Kala B Shetty have been admitted to the hospital.
Shetty who is a retired Vijaya Bank employee was in a critical condition and breathed his last in the hospital.
